It's hard to believe that it's already November! We have been very busy for the past two months and now we will move into a busy schedule as we prepare for Report Cards, which includes demand writing and District Math Benchmarks. Students should be reading nightly and practicing their basic math facts. We have been working on many different mental math strategies and there will be a mental math component on the District Math Benchmark. I enjoyed reading the student recounts of our train trip and these Quick Write activities will be sent home for you to see a sample of your child's writing and to also let you know how they are doing with respect to organization and basic conventions in their writing. In grade 4 students should be adding many details to their writing and they should also be using uppercase letters at the beginning of sentences as well as appropriate sentence endings in all of their writing work. A note will go home this week indicating our parent teacher interview times. Please fill out this form and send it back by the end of the week. Report cards will go home on Monday November 23rd and our Parent Teacher Interviews will be held be held on Thursday November 26th from 3:30 to 6:30 pm and again on Friday November 27th from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. I look forward to meeting with you during this time. Have a super week!
